Concept Artist / Concept Designer (Contract)
Job Description
Join us at Legion Studios as we work on our debut title backed by a major upcoming publisher.
We are currently working on Covenant; a First-Person Melee / Shooter RPG set in a Dark Fantasy world; weaving strong gameplay, immersive worlds, and compelling narratives to capture the imagination of our players in both multiplayer and single-player modes.

Below is what you would be responsible for here at Legion Studios.
Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with the core team, game designers, and stakeholders to conceptualize and iterate on designs that support the overall project vision.
Create character, prop, story beats, weapon, VFX, and environment concepts with a strong understanding of artistic style, narrative needs, and overall project vision.
Produce polished visuals for marketing and sales purposes
Prioritizing tasks and managing time to meet content scheduling requirements.
Creating consistent UI and in-game graphical assets to be used in the player HUD, menus, and as world accents.
Requirements
An outstanding portfolio that showcases your artistic ability and imagination.
Expertise in designing characters, VFX, weapons and/or environments from loose exploration sketches to fully rendered concepts.
Excellent sketching abilities for quick conceptualization
Excellent traditional artistic skills with a strong grasp of composition, anatomy, color theory, perspective, lighting, environment, architectural, character, costume and graphic design
Strong understanding of mythology, fantasy, religion, history, and various painting styles.
Strong understanding of visual language - texture, color, dimension, scale, perspective, shade, composition, depth of field, proportion, spatial awareness, etc.
Good communication skills, ability to explain concepts and support artistic choices.
High proficiency in industry-standard 2D software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) Familiarity with 3D tools (e.g. Maya, ZBrush, 3DS Max).
Be self-sufficient and self-motivated, can perform duties with little oversight and can also work collaboratively with other departments and leads
Deep understanding of various eras of architecture throughout different time periods.
Be passionate.
